May 1st 2009 is the day I started the Muslim-Manga group on deviantArt. (I had a site called Muslim-Manga before that, but only a few of you may have known about it; it is gone now, but I’m working on a new one). Since May 1st has come again, we want to celebrate Muslim-Manga’s Anniversary. There will inshaAllah be a Support Muslim Manga Contest

The basic idea is to create a an anime or manga style deviation that supports Muslim-Manga. You must still follow general rules of the group and the drawings must be appropriate. Read the rules that are posted here [link]

This contest is here to show the importance of reading the Holy Qur’an.

The basic idea of the manga contest is that you show why reading the Holy Qur’an is important. Reading these contests can/will inshaAllah be encouraging for children and adults to read the Holy Qur’an more often

There are a few ways to go about this:

You can talk about how reading the Holy Qur’an is a good deed and will get you closer to Allah

You can talk about how reading the Holy Qur’an affects your every day life in a positive way.

You can talk about how reading the Holy Qur’an keeps you away from committing sins or keeps you from committing less sins than you would have if you did not read it.

..and these are just a few possibility. I am sure you can all think of other ways to encourage people to read this Holy book.

This is a very important contest, so if we have more than 4 submissions (at least 5), the first place winner will get a 3 month subscription.

I’ve been planning to have a Yu-Gi-Oh Fanart contest for about 3-4 months now. The reason for that is because recently a new Yu-Gi-Oh movie came out in Japan. The movie features the main characters of all three Yu-Gi-Oh series (Yu-Gi-Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh GX, Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds) in it.
Just like previous FanArt contests, the participants needs to draw a character or multiple characters of Yu-Gi-Oh and change them to be Muslim. If their clothes are not usually Islamic, then change or alter their clothes to make them Islamic. For example, if they are wearing a skirt, make sure, you alter it to be a long skirt, but you can keep their designs of their school uniform.
We want you to draw a character from Yu-Gi-Oh and draw them as a Muslim.

Some suggestions for when the contests starts:

Try to make the characters look like they did in the show. Tracing of the TV series is allowed (No tracing of other people’s fanart) as long as you change them enough to make them Muslim, which means it will be a partial trace because you will change something about them to make them Muslim.

For the unity contest you will need to create an artwork in anime or manga style that shows Muslims (Sunni, Shia, etc. ) having unity with one another and loving each other.
As we know some people in this world try to create fitna between Muslims. As we know Muslims lived together without hate after the prophet of Islam passed away. This hate for each other is something new and as true Muslims we should not allow this hate to continue.

Unity does not mean you have to accept each other’s beliefs as your own. It just means you won’t hate each other because of that difference in belief.
